EMIS EPS/GP Connect Activation

Before your hub can go live, EMIS (Optum) must activate EPS and GP Connect which will take place on a training day. Before the training day can be booked with EMIS the following pre-requisites must be in place:

1. New Prescribing Cost Centre (PCC) Code and Spurious Codes requested via ICB for PCN
2. Smartcard Positions created against PCC
3. Create an RA position for PCN (to assign Smartcard Positions to PCN users)
4. Data Sharing Agreements submitted to EMIS
5. ICO Registration – https://ico.org.uk/for-organisations/data-protection-fee/register/ (required for the DSPT
6. DSPT Toolkit – https://www.dsptoolkit.nhs.uk/ for new PCC
7. Sign GP Connect National Data Sharing Arrangement – https://apply.ndsp.gpconnect.nhs.uk/
8. Send GP Connect DSA Confirmation to EMIS – uk.deliveryops@optum.com
9. Create a prescribing user in EMIS and assign a smartcard position (for testing EPS)
10. Register a Spine Dummy Patient
11. Data Sharing Agreements activated by PCN Hub and member Practices
12. Book EMIS EPS Training (when you are ready)
